Away with the old and in with the new ‘Make Affiliate Marketing Money’. I decided to start the year 2012 with a new look to my website and to begin a fresh start in ideas and innovation. I have various sites but this one has a special place in my heart and one that I will never forget as long as I live.

Here is what the website used to look like:

When I first saw this theme, I was sold and had no doubts about using it for my site. I liked the warm colours and the simple layout. So why am I changing it now besides starting the new year off with a fresh start? Well… There were one or two things bothering me lately.

I did research sometime back and noticed that my website was taking to0 long to load compared to other websites on the Internet. Did you know that Google and other search engines penalize you for this? Yeap, that’s correct… Google wants your site to deliver the best user experience and if your site takes too long to load, then that means people are going to get frustrated and most likely leave and search for another website.

So, that was my main reason for changing the theme as I found it to be too rich in detail.

The other reason was due to the website being too heavy… and what I mean by this is that when you read the content on a dark background, you get tired and lose interest very fast. Now with the new look of MakeAffiliateMarketingMoney.com, it’s easier to read against white background which in turn keeps you interested.

So my advice to everyone creating new websites is… stick to simple and light coloured themes rather than heavy and dark background. Your site will perform better and have a higher user experience which is exactly what Google wants.
